I say that because I am just wrapping one of the best quick trips I have taken in my life. I am in Mexico, Mayakoba and have been relaxing for the last 3 days eating my heart out and looking out in the ocean.

This vacation was a treat to myself for working super hard last year. I got my annual bonus and couldn’t think of what to buy or where to go when a friend of mine called me about a great travel deal on an amazing package vacation website called travelzoo. I promptly booked a 5 star all inclusive deal in Fairmont and then prayed that nothing would go wrong between my booking and travel days.

The vacation itself was amazing, I spent many hours laying on the beach looking at the ocean and ordering glasses of Chandon. I leant how to float on my back and manage to eat for as much as we paid for the hotel and it is a good 4 digit $$! The hotel had an amazing spa where we indulged in getting chocolate wraps and then dolled up for a beach party last night. All in all an amazing memorable trip for me before I dive into a work offsite in Chicago head first!

As I think about the last few hours, I can’t help but wonder how little we all do for our own wellness and de-compressing. I have worked for many many years and this trip was really one of the few if not only where I had 0 stress of anything. I truly didn’t care about an agenda, the timing of anything, the way I looked or how much I was going to pay ( the all inclusive aspect of it helped) . This little bit of de-compressing will allow me to function hard for the next 3 months before I embark on a month long personal and family vacation where I will travel through Asia and Europe but hopefully will be more purposeful and agenda driven than this one!
