When was the last time you imagined something that you wanted and then imagined how exactly it would be.. like a chocolate cake that I feel like eating right now.. it would be fluffy, not too sweet, not too rich, right amount of chocolate and not too dense.. and then we get around to buying a cake and it turns out 50-75% of what you want.. if you are lucky!
Anything you buy of the shelf will never be as good as anything you imagined because that thing will be the best version of what the seller had to offer and you had no conversations about the product before you picked it up..
Now imagine making the cake, adding the right amount of flour, sweet and prayers and then cooking it to the amount of time that you think you will get the best results.. and viola.. you have yourself what you want and exactly to your specifications..
Over the years, I have realised that the best relationships that I have forged are also the ones I have worked on and towards. It is hard to expect something to work right off the bat according to your needs as the person on the other side doesn’t know what to expect and present the best version of themselves that may or may not be to your liking…
…But as you spend time, talk.. debate and have contentious moments, you mould those people and relationships to what you want and so do they.. and the ones that stick around for the long run.. are the sweetest and god-willing.. not too dense..
Till later!
