The Art of Doing Nothing: In Defence of a Lazy Weekend

This is how are usually describe my weekends. To say the least, I’m a very lazy person.

If I could I would stop going out the house altogether. I love staying indoors and my usual physical activity is going from room to room and cleaning up. Weekends are also about just spending some time with my own self, to be comfortable with whatever is going on in my head and the time to introspect those deep dark corners in my brain.

When I was younger my most favourite thing was watching television and I could do it for many many hours up to a few days without a break.. not a lot has changed.. Netflix and chill.. in the most literal sense is still the most important event of my week.

As adults we spend over 60% of our lives outside of our houses. Usually during this period you are expected to interact with people build relationships and get things done.

Very early on I decided that I am going to be the most important person in my life and that helped me be comfortable with being alone without feeling lonely. I can spend days together just rummaging through my mind and stitching stories, memories and plans for the future or for an alternate reality..

People expect me to be fun and go out partying but really when do I spend time with and on the most important person in my life? I’d say today starting now.. Do you??

Till later!
