My fellow San Franciscans will agree with me that the most irritating and disturbing sound in the city is that of the fire engine.. not only is it painful as I can hear it through my noise cancellation windows but also eerie as it is a symbol of something far sinister that may or may not have happened..

Sometimes I wonder if it would be good for life to have sirens blaring at us when it throws an incident our way so we are prepared to face what is to come next and aren’t caught by a surprise. Would it better if we knew what was coming our way or would we happier unknown. I don’t know this but I would usually err or the side of a known devil than an unknown one.. what do you think?
